Md Wahiduzzaman, Managing Director of Japan Garden City Limited, has been elected as the president and Chairman of Brick Works Development Ltd Liakat Ali Bhuiyan has become senior vice president of the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB) for 2024-26 tenure.

They were elected unopposed.

Meanwhile, Managing Director of Haveli Property Development Ltd M A Awal as the first vice president of the association, Managing Director of Akter properties Ltd. (APL) Mohammad Akhter Biswas as second, Basic Builders Limited Managing Director Engineer Abdul Latif as third, and ARMA Real Estate Limited Chairman Abdur Razzak as fourth Vice President (Finance), have been elected.

From Chattogram region, Managing Director of RF Builders Limited Delwar Hossain as Vice President has been elected for the next two years, according to press release. 

Four panels– Housing Traders Oikya Parishad led by Wahiduzzaman, Developers Forum led by chairman of Century Realty Ltd MGR Nasir Majumder, Naba Jagaran led by REHAB former vice-president Nazrul Islam, and Joyer Dhara by managing director of Hamid Real Estate Construction Intekhabul Hamid–contested the election.

Earlier on Tuesday’s election, Wahiduzzaman-led panel Housing Traders Oikya Parishad was secured 25 director posts out of 29. Wahiduzzaman bagged the highest 248 votes in the election.

A total of 409 voters out of 476 have exercised their votes for the election.

Since 2007, this is the first time that formal elections held as the executive committee was decided through mutual understanding among members.
